Capio hospitals to rebrand as Ramsay this month

Capio Healthcare UK's hospitals are to be rebranded Ramsay Health Care later this month, after being acquired by the Australian organisation late last year.

Ramsay entered the UK healthcare market by acquiring Capio's UK operations in November and said the rebranding exercise will be completed by January 26.

Ramsay's UK units will continue to operate under their local names but the group is now operating as Ramsay Health Care UK, with the existing UK management team remaining in place, the company said.

Ramsay's network now includes 22 independent hospitals, nine independent sector treatment centres, a Harley Street clinic, as well as neurological rehabilitation centres and diagnostic imaging services.

Ramsay is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange with a market capitalisation of approximately £730m. It operates 65 hospitals in Australia and three in Indonesia, with over 7,000 beds and employing approximately 20,000 staff.
